    119103 - Preschool Aquatics S1

The American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics program is specifically formatted for those children too advanced for Parent/Tot and too young for the Learn to Swim program. Each session will concentrate on improved comfort in and around water, increased awareness, range of motion, safety, and beginning stroke skills. Class size is limited in order to promote increased individual attention and closer student/teacher relationship. This class is an excellent way to introduce your child to swim lessons in an individual and progressive manner. With three levels of progression, children will be tested the first day of the session and placed in the appropriate level based on their assessed skills. Learn-to-Swim readiness is emphasized. The prerequisite for each level is the successful demonstration of skills from the preceding level. Safety is an instrumental part of the Preschool Aquatics curriculum and will be reserved for inclement weather days. The park district does not offer make up classes/refunds due to absence or inclement weather situations. Saturday swim instructors may vary from week to week. *No class 7/4.
    * Anyone registering a 4 -5 year old for the first time must provide a copy of a birth certificate to ensure equal opportunity for all registrants.
    * All new participants will be tested the first day of the session to assess their skills. They will then be assigned to a class based on their skill level.
    * Returning participants will be assigned to a class based on the last level they completed in their previous session.
    * Children may advance through levels anytime throughout the session.
    * If you have questions about your child’s level the Office Staff at the Community Center can assist you when registering.
    * In the event of inclement weather, classes will be held inside.
    * Levels may be combined due to low class totals.
    * Must be 4 years old prior to session start date.
